You don't have to travel far to experience Andalusia.

Explore the mountains
Cómpeta sits beside the spectacular Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama Natural Park.
October is a particularly attractive time for walking and exploring the landscape, with everything from relaxed routes to more ambitious mountain hikes available in the surrounding area.
For photographers, the softer autumn light adds another dimension to the mountain scenery.
Spend a day by the Mediterranean
One of the pleasures of staying in Cómpeta is being able to combine mountains and sea.
Head towards the coast for a relaxed day around Nerja, explore the old town, visit the Balcón de Europa, discover one of the nearby coves or simply enjoy lunch overlooking the Mediterranean.
Then return to the peace of the mountains in the evening.
Discover Málaga
Málaga makes an excellent day trip from Casa the España.
Explore the historic centre, visit the market, enjoy the museums and harbour, stop for tapas or simply wander through the city with your camera.
You don't need an ambitious sightseeing programme. Málaga is a city that is particularly enjoyable on foot.
Discover the white villages of the Axarquía
Cómpeta is only one of the characteristic white villages of this part of Andalusia.
Having a car gives you the freedom to explore smaller villages, mountain roads, viewpoints and landscapes away from the busiest tourist routes.
Choose a direction, take your time and make the journey part of the experience.

October can be particularly rewarding for photographers.
Morning light in the mountains, the white streets of Cómpeta, Mediterranean landscapes and golden-hour views provide very different subjects within a relatively small area.
